Why isn’t a skate bowl included?

Baiter Skatepark is located on a historic landfill site and in an area of risk of flooding. This limits how much excavation can take place. The design team has focused on creating the best possible riding experience, within the site’s constraints.

Why is there no pump track?

The funding for this project is specifically for improving the existing skatepark. While a pump track is not included in the current scheme, BCP Council has heard the feedback from residents and users and will look to develop this further as part of the next phase of Plan for Play improvements.

Why aren’t my comments included in the revised scheme?

All feedback has been carefully considered. However, not every suggestion can be included. The design must balance different views, the available budget, site constraints and safety requirements. Even if a suggestion has not been included, all comments help inform the project and future improvements.

The scheme feels too busy – can you remove some of the features?

The proposed features have been informed by consultation feedback and designed to provide a high-quality riding experience. We recognise that riding styles and preferences vary and that the proposals may not meet everyone’s expectations. The current planning application will help establish the key parameters and constraints for the project.
