Broadstone Recreation Ground Play Project

Delivered May 2024

The Project

Broadstone Recreation Ground is located within the residential area of Broadstone, Poole. It is a large well-loved park with sport pitches, mature woodlands and gardens and areas of natural lowland heath. Whilst some investment has been made in recent years to upgrade the existing play area within the park for younger children, the local community had identified the need for play aimed at children aged 6 years+

The vision was to create a space full of imaginative and challenging play, drawing inspiration from the wooded setting of the site and the sloping landform – a space which creates a social destination and supports healthy activity aimed at this older age group.

The project funding has been allocated through secured funds from Community Infrastructure Levy and grant funding that Broadstone Neighbourhood Forum (BNF) successfully secured, total project budget of £112,200.

BNF and BCP Council worked in partnership to deliver this new play space for the community to enjoy.
