Survey closed 2nd January 2023
During 2022 we sought your help in developing a draft vision for play in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
The Play Survey asked for your use of and opinions on our Play Spaces including play areas/playgrounds, MUGAs (Multi-Use Games Areas – where a variety of different sports and games can be played) and wheeled play areas (skate parks, BMX pump tracks etc).
Online & postal survey
- We asked respondents to tell us about the Play Spaces they or their family use in the BCP area using an online survey. The survey ran from Monday 24 October 2022 until Monday 2 January (it was extended from Friday 5 December 2022). The survey was available at haveyoursay.bcpcouncil.gov.uk/play. Paper copies were also available upon request from BCP Council libraries and from Environment Services, with a contact phone number and email address provided for alternative formats.
In-person community engagement
We were especially keen to hear from parents, grandparents, carers, skateboarders, cyclists and residents living close to a designated play area. Members of the Play Team were pleased to have met with local residents at play spaces across Bournemouth, Poole & Christchurch on 26 October 2022.

We will combine your feedback with our own information about our play spaces to create a ‘Plan for Play’ focusing on how we will manage and maintain them in the future.
